Christian Meditation:  A Work of the Heart

When I added meditation to my day, my life greatly changed.  The biggest change is that life makes more sense and is much more exciting.  I feel more balanced, more able to welcome challenges and much more able to deal with day to day stress. I consider myself lucky to have been encouraged to begin my meditation practice and to have teachers to guide me in this amazing journey to my heart.

Most western Christians feel that meditation is not part of our tradition and conclude that it is something that does not fit. This is a misconception.  Apart from the highly rational Greco-Roman world we spring from, meditation is alive and well in the contemplative tradition.  Though most Christians have never been taught it, meditation is a rich and vital part of our heritage.

As a Christian who has received tremendous benefit from my daily practice of meditation, I have decided to offer instruction, and support, in the basics of Christian Meditation. I will be teaching core techniques systematically and comfortably in one on one instruction that will provide you with a solid foundation for a rich meditative practice.

In each one hour session you will learn entry points, how to sink-in and how to follow your path.  We will be using sacred readings, chants, bells, oils and sacred images.  You will learn the importance of creating a sacred space, timing and how to best utilize the time after your meditation as a key structure in your daily life.

I look forward to you joining us.

And he answered me,

"It is neither soul nor spirit that sees,  but the eye of the heart which is between the two that perceives the vision....."
